Join Dawn for a workshop in which we will explore questions of activism and allyship in troubled times with a dash of magic as our guide. What does it mean to be an ally or activist? How do we care for ourselves doing this work? How do we know we are meeting the needs of diverse communities and how do we know when to speak up and when to sit down? Inspired by the work of the Reclaiming Collective Dawn uses storytelling and guided visualization to create a container for important and heartfelt conversations meant to sustain those who are in the struggle.
About the host:
Dawn cut here teeth as an activist in Toronto working against privatization of public services. From there she moved to solidarity work with incarcerated peoples. Now a prison abolitionist, anti-carceral feminist who has years of experience doing anti-oppression, anti-racist and decolonizing work Dawn is using some magical tools to turn her activism to caring for and supporting the activists. So join us for a heart felt time to reflect with the important goal of making sure we care for ourselves and each other during difficult times.
